Three Essential Products I Use Every Time I Travel And You Should Too
I often pack differently for business trips than I do for leisure. For one, I don’t use the same luggage or pack the same type of clothes. However, there are three essential items that I always use no matter the type of travel. Here’s what they are, why I use them and links to get them directly on Amazon.
The Anker Astro Compact Portable Charger
Mobile devices are an asset for everyday life. Even without a laptop or tablet, I can communicate, check my email, take photos, perform critical business tasks and get around nearly every city using my phone. Without it, I’m lost. So, it’s important to make sure my mobile device is charged when an outlet isn’t available or a boost is necessary.
This handy portable compact charger gives my iPhone 6S Plus approximately two full charges. It’s great as a backup between charges, on an airplane or when the rental car chargers don’t work or you forget your converter.
Folca Compact Pill Case
I have a clean bill of health, so I don’t require a daily dose of any specific medication. However, I always pack a small case of essential assorted pharmaceutical products that include: ibuprofen tablets for the occasional headache or other pain; a couple of small band-aids and a strip of moleskin for occasional blisters or scrapes; two small strips of Hollywood fashion tape and safety pins for emergency wardrobe malfunctions; allergy medication (pills); a few chewable multi-vitamins; and a couple of blister packs of emergency cold medicine—just in case.
You never know when you are going to need these items and it can be inconvenient to find a drug store when you do. It is always nice to have a few things to get you by until you can get more. I love this little compact case because it has a variety of different sized compartments and fits nicely in almost any toiletry bag, backpack, work bag or purse. Bonus, it folds and snaps closed so you don't have to worry about it spilling.
eBag Packing Cubes
I never thought packing cubes were necessary until one day I purchased them and they changed my life. They are a space saver, help organize your packing and keep you organized throughout your travel. Have you ever opened your luggage and your clothing came unfolded, or fell out onto the floor? If so, you need these too.
There are no hard and fast rules about how to pack these cubes. Each time, I pack them a little differently depending on the type of travel and my needs. For example, one cube might have a selection pants, the other shirts and tops and another with undergarments. When I pack for leisure travel, I mix and match tops and bottoms, coordinating colors and patterns for longer trips. For shorter work trips, I often pack one cube per outfit—it takes the thinking out of my mornings.
I find that the small and medium cubes are much more manageable, fit into most carry-on size luggage and travel packs, and are generally more useful than the large and extra-large sizes. This small and medium set works well for me. Though, larger sizes may be more suitable for men whose clothing is generally a little larger, or for suit jackets and larger-sized checked luggage.
